2nd Annual Reunion - September, 2009

BELAY THAT!

With deep regret, we sadly inform you that the 2009 Skinny-T Reunion has been cancelled. Perhaps because of the economic downturn, you, our fellow shipmates failed to respond in the numbers we had hoped for. To those who did respond we thank you for your confidence. Unfortunately, there weren't sufficient enough responses to make this event a reality. We needed a few more to close the deal and, unfortunately, the numbers just weren't there. That is not to say that you, the crew members of our great ship didn't want to attend. If all the conditions were ideal, the entire ships company, from 1970 plank owners to the decommissioning crew in 1993 would have loved to attend. Our personal finances and other obligations must take precedence over our desires. There will be other times!

Maybe the economy will pick back up by 2010 and that will be a better time to get together and enjoy times together, recalling all the great memories we shared. Don't give up hope. The greatest amphib ship in the navy is the showcase for the greatest naval ship Internet site on the web. There is no reason we can't have the best navy reunion ever. Stay tuned!
